Temghar Dam- a major source of water supply to the Lavasa city built on the river Muthu 40 kms from Pune.  The dam also offers an enticing panoramic view of the Temghar reservoir and the city. The beautiful site is used as a local picnic spot both by the tourists and the locals.

10,000 फीट पर निर्मित दुनिया की सबसे लंबी सुरंग

भारत के हिमाचल प्रदेश में मनाली-लेह राजमार्ग पर निर्मित "अटल सुरंग", जिसे "रोहतांग सुरंग" के रूप में भी जाना जाता है, यह दुनिया में 10,000 फीट (3,048 मीटर) से ऊपर निर्मित सबसे लंबी सुरंग है। इस सुरंग की लम्बाई 9.02 किमी सोलंग घाटी से मनाली के पास लाहौल में सिसु तक जाती है, जो रोहतांग दर्रे के पश्चिम में एक पर्वत को काटती है। इसका नाम पूर्व भारतीय प्रधानमंत्री अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी के नाम पर रखा गया है। इसका उद्घाटन 3 अक्टूबर 2020 को प्रधान मंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा किया गया था। इस परियोजना की अनुमानित लागत 3200 करोड़ है। इस सुरंग ने मनाली और लेह के बीच की दूरी 46 किमी (28.6 मील) कम कर दी और यात्रा समय सड़क अवरोध या हिमस्खलन के खतरे के बिना 4 से 5 घंटे कम कर दिया। (image credit: thefinancialexpress) "अटल सुरंग" (Atal Tunnel) का इतिहास रोहतांग पर्वत श्रृंखला के नीचे सुरंग निर्माण की परिकल्पना आज से लगभग 160 साल पहले की गई थी। साल 1860 में ब्रिटिश हुकूमत के दौरान मोरावियन मिशन ने (Moravian Mission)रोहतांग का दौरा किया था और पहली बार रोहतांग दर्रे से लाहौल पहुंच...
