Mini Europe of India: Lavasa Hill City
This is a story of my neighbor Dr. Avinash who went to Lavasa City along with his family in 2017. When I started my blog, I asked to share his travel experience and he agreed to share of this stories and experiences with us. I hope you will like it and I hope his travel story will convince you to visit this amazing planned hill station of India.
Visit to The Lavasa City by Dr. Avinash....
By profession I'm a Doctor from Bihar, passionate about travelling keep me refresh for my job. I heard a lot about Lavasa but did not get a chance to see. Once my neighbor Alok came home in December 2016. I put my mind in front of him because he run own travel agency in Delhi, So I left everything to him. He told many exciting places about Lavasa City, we finalized to spend two or three days in the dream city. After ten days I received a call from Alok that all arrangements have been made for April from Delhi.Lavasa !! India’s Largest Hill City !!
On the lap of Western Ghats, Lavasa is a
privately planned city that offers activities like water sports, cruising,
hiking, trekking and mountain climbing. Temghar Dam, Bamboosa, Lakeside
Promenade is a popular attractions in Lavasa. Some water activities can be done
in the lake but water levels are very low.
We started our trip from Delhi on 3rd
April at 08:00 AM, we board on Spicejet flight from Indira Gandhi International
Airport Delhi (IGI Airport) to Pune International Airport. After 2hours
10minutes journey we landed at Pune International Airport.
Our Tour Itinerary Sketched as:
Day 01: Pune
to Lavasa City: Our tour representative meet and greet at
Pune Airport and proceed towards India’s largest hill city by road- well linked
road offers you comfortable journey. From Pune Airport, Lavasa city is located
around 65km away. On arrival, check in hotel and get refreshed. We enjoyed the
natural surroundings in the evening.
Day02:
Lavasa Sightseeing: After breakfast take a full day sightseeing
of Lavasa Valley – sightseeing places are Tembher Dam, Bamboosa Cultural
centre, lakeside Promenade, warasgaon lake, we enjoy local market, local food,cycling,
boating and sunset. Overnight stay at hotel.
Day03: Lavasa
to Pune: After breakfast, check out from hotel and
proceed to Pune Airport for our onwards journey.
Lavasa reminds one of classy european cities,
after visiting to the beauty and vibrancy of this city, we can say this city is
“mini europe of India”. The weather is great with a number of good hotels to
make one's stay enjoyable and remarkable. Lavasa
is emerging as a flourishing tourist destination. It’s natural beauty is
unique. In future, this place will be a center of special attraction for
tourists - I believe so.
Temghar Dam
Temghar
Dam- a major source of water supply to the Lavasa city built on the river Muthu
40 kms from Pune. The dam also offers an
enticing panoramic view of the Temghar reservoir and the city. The beautiful
site is used as a local picnic spot both by the tourists and the locals.
Lakeside Promenade
Lakeside Promenade designed as Italian town is
a major tourist attraction in modeled city of Lavasa. The promenade has a
variety of eateries and food options. It alsoo facilitates boating. The place
is also ideal for cycling or simply strolling around.
